December 26, 2006 - January 1, 2007 - Annual Kwanzaa celebration at Malcolm X College/Membership Drive, continued campaign for "No Olympics in Chicago"/ Hosted Joh Carlos and signing of his biography, "Why".
December 16 & 17, 2006 - Pre-Kwanzaa Celebration at South Shore Cultural Center/ Memberhip Drive and continued campaign for "No Olympics in Chicago".
November 3, 2006 - Sponsored "night of the movies" with U.S. Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney of the 6th District from Georgia.
Featured movie; "American Blackout".
October 16, 2006 - Co-sponsored with Chicago Council of Black Lawyers and Black People Against Police Torture a press conference encouraging the International and U.S. Olympic Committe to rescind their consideration of Chicago as a potential host for the 2016 Olympic Games.
1968 Bronze medal winner, John Carlos, was invited to appear and give a statement.
His statement encouraged Mayor Daley to tend to the unfinished business of the Burge torture situation.
And that until there is reparations for the 200 plus individuals of color who were tortured by former Commander Jon Burge and his "rogue cops",
Chicago is not the right climate to host the Olympic Games.
